It wasn't meant to be.........

Ok so today is 09/10/13. I right the date because I know it's going to be awhile before I post this publicly.
So today I began to have a miscarriage. Most of you will not of known I was even pregnant. I was 6wks today.
So I guess it was not meant to be and I guess we'll have our second wee midget when the time is right.
At present I'm a bit numb about it all. Today has not gone according to plan at all.
I was meant to work my only full day this week, come home and look after Miss Midget while Mr E worked tonight.
Obviously those plans are now out the window. Instead I was at White Cross at 10:45am and then at the Pathologist to get blood taken. I have a Doctors appointment tomorrow for blood tests results and a "where to from here" chat. I can see the rest of this week is going to be hell but it's just goes with my "I want a refund" post I think.

I'm not going to even try and fathom why people go through this. It's cruel and unfair. The only thing I can grasp is that baby you were obviously to perfect for this world and that you were needed in heaven instead of being with me and your daddy.

I wrote this poem a few years ago when a friend of mine went through this.

Tears cannot express the sadness we go through knowing you're not here.
They say that god has a master plan and all I can think of it’s not fair.
Going through the pain and knowing I cannot hold you, it’s not fair.
They say try again. I don't want to, I want you more than they will ever know.
They say other things to try and make me feel better like what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
At the end of the day I know they mean well but I don't care, I want you.
God and life are not on our side this time it seems.
You were loved before your first breath and even more loved now even though we never got the chance to meet you.
Forever in our hearts, my little butterfly baby.

I write this post not looking for sympathy. I know I'm not the first or the last person to go through this. This is more for me to try and make sense of it all.
I know once the hormones settle down and things go back to normally I'll be fine and life will carry on.

14/10/13

Ok so I've been thinking and talking with a few people. It's only been a few days of healing and I know there will be lots more.
I'm still quite numb about the whole thing. I'm not sure how I feel. While I am sad I feel like I should feel worse. I haven't been the crying mess in the corner. I dunno. I have just been putting one foot in front of the other.
The people I have told so far have been wonderful (Not that I was expecting them not to be). Words of condolence have been spoken but right now I almost feel like a fraud due to the way I'm feeling right now. I'm not sure if any of this makes sense, I appreciate all the kind words that have been given to me but it's like I don't deserve them because I'm not more emotional about this whole thing.

I'm not sure if you could class this as me dealing with it well or not dealing with it at all.
I'm in a bit of pain today. I was meant to go to work today but I think I did too much over the weekend so have been curled up with my book today. Miss Midget has gone out for the day and Mr E has gone fishing. I'm having some peace.

I kind of feel like I should be feeling more. I don't want to belittle anyone that has been through this or is going to go through this. I feel like I'm not feeling what I should which turns the guilt up even more.

Again this post is for me processing exactly what I'm feeling at the moment. Even seeing it on the screen isn't helping though. Will see. I'll put this post down to my own personal therapy. Chucking it out into the universe may help me process.

Ok so now it's on with the positive. I will sort through this. I know there is no right or wrong way to feel and to grieve. I have a beautiful family whom I love more than anything and I have lots of people around me who make me smile constantly.
I'm making new friends through the book blog and I get to to talk books with like minded people which is always fun.

I'll leave you with this, I posted it on my facebook the other day :).

Woohoo Holiday

Woohoo we're going on Holiday.

The final countdown has began (All I have running through my head is "It's the final countdown") as we're off on Friday down to the M.I.L's house and then leaving on a jet plane to jump the ditch on Saturday to have a Austrailia Adventure (Cliche much? haha).

I'm so looking forward to it. I'm praying that it's a hell of a lot warmer there than it is here (looking at the temps it's a given yay).

I've made it to almost 30yrs old without leaving the country I can't wait to see what Australia has in store for me.

So heads up for everyone this is your official warning that I won't be on the net much come Saturday next week unless I find internet access somewhere (Not really planning on looking too hard) so both this blog and Lost in a Book will be a little quiet for at least a couple of weeks as we're gone till 25th/26th of August.

Right now to get off the computer and go continue figuring what on earth I'm packing.
According to Miss Midget she is only taking toys and her bag's all packed. When asked about her clothes she informed me that she was gonna rock around Australia in her pj's. Hmmmm something tells me this one takes after her Mummy in the fact that pj's are the most comfy thing owned :)

Take care and will talk when I get back (I'll have lots of photos to show you hehe)

Important Life Lessons for Miss Midget

So this morning tragedy struck and i was greeted with tears when I went to get Miss Midget up this morning.
Her poor long suffering Barbie has lost her leg just below the knee.

We are hoping Dr Daddy (Mr E) will be able to fix Barbie (Glue should work I hope).
This got me thinking about life lessons Missy has learnt in her 3 almost 4 years.

I would say this is a important one. Barbie's legs may bend but it doesn't mean they go that way. Also this could be a lesson on the fact that Mummy and Daddy may not be able to fix everything.

Another lesson she's learnt a few months back (I won't go into to much detail about it) - She has found out the hard way that if she swallows the likes of Barbie's little bracelet that while we may see it again we do not get to keep it and we count it as GONE.

Another one she's learnt is that yes we can give our toys haircuts but they are not like us and it won't grow back. This one she learnt after silly Mummy left a pair of scissors within reach and Miss had friends around. Really it's all Mummy's fault but still Miss has learnt a valuable lesson on that one.

I know there are more life lessons coming for her. Things like "We don't cut our own hair" and the like of so I guess I have things to look forward to. Feel free to let me know other fun life lessons I may not be aware of.

So I guess now we wait for Dr Daddy and figure out whether today's life lesson is about Barbie's leg or the fact Glue is a wonderful invention.

Will let you know how Barbie's surgery goes :)

I want a refund!!!!!

So I want a refund.

2013 has not lived up to what was originally sold to me and I want a full refund!

Not store credit and I certainly do not want to pick another year as it can not be promised that it won't turn out exactly like this one.

I'm thinking maybe I need to tell "the powers that be" that they have a faulty product and really should look at fixing it.

While it was never stated that I had brought only roses I think I got the product that only had the thorns and fertilizer. I'm still waiting for my roses!!!

Of course when planning for this year no one could expect that it would turn out like this and yes it is "the luck of the draw" but I think a refund is necessary after everything this year.

I think maybe as I push for my refund I could speak to them about their advertising.

Really things like "It can only get better", "This year holds so much promise", "This year is Your year" really shouldn't be used with regards to this year. It's almost false advertising.

I really should've read the "terms and conditions" on New Years day instead of looking at it through hungover eyes first before I went along with all the advertising above.

If I can't get refund (It's pretty much a given I'm stuck with 2013 isn't it?) I will look into what I can do to get the roses. I have enough fertiliser to sink a ship so I better get some brilliant ones :).

Right now that I have my nonsense rant out of the way I promise I'm fine and we can go back to our regularly scheduled Friday lol.

If my daughter makes it to 18.......(Warning Content of this Post is a tad GROSS)

At present we are battling winter illness. So far this winter (Well actually the last 6wks) we've had a tummy bug, strep throat and now we're moving on to a wonderful cold which I won't go into great detail about (it's pretty gross). So again I have found that I have had to take time off work.

I'm now at the point where I'm getting cabin fever and my patience is extremely thin, It also doesn't help that I'm not feeling 100% either. At this point of having her home with me I'm thinking it's going to be a miracle if she makes it to 18yrs old.

My darling daughter when she gets cooped up she tends to go a little like her Mumma with cabin fever. I swear this afternoon was like I'd feed her a whole pile of sugar as she was running round like a crazy person. Was only when she stopped she realised she was still sick as the coughing came and the copious amounts of snot. Her ears must also not be working because everything I said to do (Like stay in the lounge cause it's warm) completely went out the window. Theres is also the entertainment factor that I'm having fun with. Her attention span is not lasting as long as normal.

This post is mainly because I'm frustrated. I know lots of kids get like this and I'm sure I'm not the only mother out there ready to rip their hair out due to not being able to win. I was even informed by the Doctor when we went last time that kids can have 12 sicknesses of a winter (which to me seems ridiculously high).

Be nice to catch a break sometime soon and be able to actually work. Its at this stage of the last few weeks I'm pretty sure I wouldn't last too long as a stay at home mum.

So now I'm going to stop whinging as a) theres not much I can do about the situation and b) having a child was our decision so I'm pretty sure this was self inflicted so time to take the concrete pill and harden up :).

My imagination and other such rubbish

Right so with the other Blog under way now I feel it's probably time to explain my little adventures here and there.

So here goes :)

Mostly I blog because it's my way of talking about whatever is going through my mind at the time.

In my little world of my blog I imagine people care what I have to say about stuff. They don't particularly care that my writing style is pretty much just me writing the first things that come into my head.
I do try and remember the things that I was taught in English but half the time I write what I think and how it would sound if I said it out loud. I realise sometimes this comes across as poor English but I'm OK with that :).

My little imagination runs away on me and likes to pretend I'm talking to the masses (which going by my stats for both blogs isn't that many people lol).

Now for those who know personally are probably having a good giggle at the bit about the masses. I don't do public speaking at all. i'll avoid it like the plague.
I get nervous talking to a room of 5 people when I'm doing training at work. I did horribly when it came to speeches at school. The content may of been OK but nerves kicked in and I'd rattle on at 90 mile a second, even if I'd timed a speech to the perfect time, standing up in front of people my speech would never be as long as it was meant to be.

I also get a bit of anxiety attacks so chances are I've run through 50 million scenarios about whats going to go wrong and how much of a idiot I'm going to look before I've even got anywhere near to opening my mouth :). So the chances of me actually speaking to a large group of people are pretty non existent as far as I'm concerned.

I guess what I'm trying to say is this little part of the internet for me is a way to voice my opinions about general rubbish that I am either going through or have a strong opinion about. I don't expect everyone to agree with half of what I have to say but it's nice to know people value you or at very least nosey enough to read it :).

Also with these little projects I have going it does seem to help with regards to work.
I work for a website company.I do the content entering and the training for our clients so they can update their websites themselves. I've found having my general play around with the likes of Blogger and Twitter and Facebook have helped with when clients ask about Social Media. Having used some of the products out there for this blog like Google Analytics has helped with regards to being able to answer questions and also occasionally pointing people in the right direction.

So that's it from me for the moment. I'm sure there'll be more stuff to write about shortly. I have a very vivid imagination and this space here lets it run wild with my ramblings which could be dangerous :).

Sucker for punishment

So it appears I'm a sucker for punishment.

Since my obsession with my kindle and books has grown to the point I've decided to start a Book Blog.
More for my benefit that anyone else's and if you choose to follow the new blog cool but if not sweet as.

Just no judging me by the stuff I read thank you :).

So the new blog is - Lost in a Book - lostinabooknz.blogspot.co.nz/.

I am going to try and keep the blogs separate and see how that goes.
This blog is more for my general ramblings that for writing about my books :).

We'll see how this all pans out. Might let one of them go, We'll see :).

So anyway I'll post again later n whats been happening with me. Just thought I'd fill ya in on my latest adventure in the blogging world :).

Another surprising use for Hand Sanitizer

So yesterday as I was home alone I found I had lots of time to rattle round the internet just filling in time.
I came across a friend's status - Renette from South African Kiwi.
She had found something which to me would never of been obvious.

"Hand sanitiser removes permanent marker from carpets. Just so you know."

Well that got my little brain ticking fast and I knew I had a small bottle of the stuff that I'd never used so this lead on to me trying to clean the arms of my lazy boy chair.

Ok so this chair has had a hard life. Originally my Popa's chairs, we inherited them and they have been sitting in the lounge for the better part of 7yrs (not counting 6mths but thats a whole another story). Anyway this particular chair used to be Mr E's got to chair. So of course the arms looked horrible with all sorts of muck on them and years worth of it. You know the kind of muck that comes from a boys hands after they have been in the garage tinkering, or the kind that comes from being on their hands at work, that sort of stuff.

So last night I thought "What the hell, lets give this a go".

Well I was quite surprised with the results.

Take a look for yourself below.

Arm before (It's pretty gross huh)

Arm after

The state of the chux cloth after.

So there you go. Not sure how cost effective this would be if you decided to do this on a regular basis and I'm sure they have proper cleaning products that possibly would of done the same job. I just wanted to test it on something that I knew was stuck and wouldn't be that easy to clean (The other arm of the chair did actually have permanent marker on it. Not any more though).

So if the apocalypse ever comes and you find yourself without cleaning products but you have a stock of hand sanitizer you'll be fine :).

Have a good day :)

When the holidays over.............

Managed to survive Christmas and News Years and we're all still in one piece :).

Miss Midget has been extremely spoilt over the last few weeks with trips here and there. Mr E and Miss left today to go spend a few days down in Managwhai
This is the view from where they are staying.

Yeah I'm extremely jealous to :).

Over the holidays we mainly spent it hanging out with family and friends and just enjoying the weather. We have had some beautiful stuff here.
I'm very thankful for Mum and Dad's pool as well as there were a couple of days last week where if there hadn't been a pool I would of melted.
I figure I'll leave ya with a few of my favourite photos from over the season as they pretty much explain it all :)

Christmas Present I made. Did 6 in total
Miss's cool pirate patch she got from her friends birthday party

Christmas eve and Santa has been

Santa didn't just leave presents. He left footprints to

Miss painting up our Balloon game with Nanny J

Tis the season to get crazy busy

Ok so lets see, what have I been up to since last I wrote.

I know I was meant to come back with what was happening with my voice - Yeah it was lost from Wednesday through to Saturday morning. Took ages to find the bloody thing :).

All has returned back to normal.

Work is going good at the moment. Extremely busy with content entering and training and helping clients which is good. I'm starting to make a bit of progress with things so it's all going well.

Miss Midget is still going through the toilet training process. Little witch decided she didn't want to go grow up the other day and wanted to be a baby. So we have been reinforcing she's such a helpful big girl. It seems to be working.
We've had a few battles with her stubborness but we appear to be winning. We are so close it's not funny. Obviously have our good days and our bad days with it. Due to the warmer weather it's a bit hard to keep clothes on her at home. She's turned into a nudist. This is also helping with getting her to use the toilet :).
She shouldn't be to far away from being all good and just in night nappies. We'll see how we go.

We're all geared up for Christmas. The tree is up. We've had our visit to Santa and presents have been brought. We're actually pretty organised this year. Just a couple of small things to get and then we're good to go. Also have to work on my christmas craft. Have a few things that I need to do on the sewing machine but have lost motivation. Must finish off Missy's fairies, haven't forgotten about the pirate hat and patch I'm meant to make either. I just need to find some energy. Can tell it's the end of the year as everyone is hanging out for a holiday and energy levels are low.

Christmas plans this year, Well we have a couple of Miss Midgets friends having Birthdays so we'll be going to those. We also will be going down the line to Mr E's Mum's house and going and seeing his grandparents.

Might even try and fit our honeymoon in there somewhere :).

Oh I also have been busy setting up the Choose Life facebook page which I volunteered to help run.
If you haven't checked it out yet, please do. It's such a worthy cause that I feel everyone needs to get behind :).

www.2chooselife.org.nz

 www.facebook.com/2chooselife

Anyway must get going. Got a few things to do with Miss Midget before dinner :).

Will make sure I update before Christmas :).

Putting ornaments on the tree.

Peter Pan

Ok so it's old news that I made a Peter Pan out of felt.
I am slowly putting some of my little crafty adventures on to Pinterest so I thought it would be a good idea to include Mr Pan to add to my little brag board that I have called "Mine"

So here he is :).

As I used my own imagination for this little man I can't link you to the pattern. It's currently in my sewing box. I can if anyone is interested figure out how to scan it and turn it into a PDF. Feel free to leave a comment and we'll go from there. No point in going to the effort if no one is interested though :).

The Parent Test - For those who have not seen it yet :)

For those of you who haven't seen the email or didn't manage to catch it on stuff.co.nz here is the Parent Test.

I love this cause it's 99% true :)
Test 1: Preparation

Women: To prepare for pregnancy
  1. Put on a dressing gown and stick a beanbag down the front.
  2. Leave it there.
  3. After 9 months remove 5% of the beans.
Men: To prepare for children
  1. Go to a local chemist, tip the contents of your wallet onto the counter and tell the pharmacist to help himself
  2. Go to the supermarket. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
  3. Go home. Pick up the newspaper and read it for the last time.

Test 2: Knowledge

Find a couple who are already parents and berate them about their methods of discipline, lack of patience, appallingly low tolerance levels and how they have allowed their children to run wild.
Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's sleeping habits, toilet training, table manners and overall behaviour.

Enjoy it. It will be the last time in your life that you will have all the answers.
Test 3: Nights
  1. Walk around the living room from 5pm to 10pm carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 4 - 6kg, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly.
  2. At 10pm, put the bag down, set the alarm for midnight and go to sleep.
  3. Get up at 11pm and walk the bag around the living room until 1am.
  4. Set the alarm for 3am.
  5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2am and make a cup of tea.
  6. Go to bed at 2.45am.
  7. Get up again at 3am when the alarm goes off.
  8. Sing songs in the dark until 4am.
  9. Put the alarm on for 5am. Get up when it goes off.
  10. Make breakfast.
Keep this up for 5 years. LOOK CHEERFUL.

Test 4: Dressing Small Children
  1. Buy a live octopus and a string bag.
  2. Attempt to put the octopus into the string bag so that no arms hangout.
Time Allowed: 5 minutes.

Test 5: Cars
  1. Forget the BMW. Buy a practical 5-door wagon.
  2. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there.
  3. Get a coin. Insert it into the CD player.
  4. Take a box of chocolate biscuits; mash them into the back seat.
  5. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.
Test 6: Going for a walk

a. Wait.
b. Go out the front door.
c. Come back in again.
d. Go out.
e. Come back in again.
f. Go out again.
g. Walk down the front path.
h. Walk back up it.
i. Walk down it again.
j. Walk very slowly down the road for five minutes.
k. Stop, inspect minutely and ask at least 6 questions about every piece of used chewing gum, dirty tissue and dead insect along the way.
l. Retrace your steps.
m. Scream that you have had as much as you can stand until the neighbours come out and stare at you.
n. Give up and go back into the house.
You are now just about ready to try taking a small child for a walk.
Test 7: Conversations with children

Repeat everything you say at least 5 times.

Test 8: Grocery Shopping
  1. Go to the local supermarket. Take with you the nearest thing you can find to a pre-school child - a fully grown goat is excellent. If you intend to have more than one child, take more than one goat.
  2. Buy your weekly groceries without letting the goat(s) out of your sight.
  3. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys.
  4. Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.
Test 9: Feeding a 1 year-old
  1. Hollow out a melon
  2. Make a small hole in the side
  3. Suspend the melon from the ceiling and swing it side to side
  4. Now get a bowl of soggy cornflakes and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon while pretending to be an aeroplane.
  5. Continue until half the cornflakes are gone.
  6. Tip the rest into your lap, making sure that a lot of it falls on the floor.
Test 10:TV
  1. Learn the names of every character from the Wiggles, Barney, Teletubbies and Disney.
  2. Watch nothing else on television for at least 5 years.
Test 11: Mess
  1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains
  2. Hide a fish behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.
  3. Stick your fingers in the flowerbeds and then rub them on clean walls. Cover the stains with crayon. How does that look?
  4. Empty every drawer/cupboard/storage box in your house onto the floor and proceed with step 5.
  5. Drag randomly items from one room to another room and leave them there.
Test 12: Long Trips with Toddlers
  1. Make a recording of someone shouting 'Mummy' repeatedly. Important Notes: No more than a 4 second delay between each Mummy. Include occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet.
  2. Play this tape in your car, everywhere you go for the next 4 years.
You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.
Test 13:Conversations
  1. Start talking to an adult of your choice.
  2. Have someone else continually tug on your shirt hem or shirt sleeve while playing the Mummy tape listed above.
You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

Test 14: Getting ready for work
  1. Pick a day on which you have an important meeting.
  2. Put on your finest work attire.
  3. Take a cup of cream and put 1 cup of lemon juice in it
  4. Stir
  5. Dump half of it on your nice silk shirt
  6. Saturate a towel with the other half of the mixture
  7. Attempt to clean your shirt with the same saturated towel
  8. Do not change (you have no time).
  9. Go directly to work
You are now ready to have children. ENJOY!!

Have a good Sunday people :)

What happens if you know them?

Pinterest has been a interesting topic in my household as of late.
I had thought about not posting about this but thought about what if I'm offending other people and thought I'd open the floor for discussion and get how everyone feels about it as I don't want to step on toes

Basically a week or so ago it was pointed out to me in a rather not nice email that I'd stolen Miss Midgets birthday cake idea off someone who I had considered a friend. They had obviously taken offence to it and told me so.

Now it wasn't as if I'd gone out of my to deliberately upset this person. I had thought everyone is sharing ideas on Pinterest then the ideas were for lack of better terminology fair game for anyone to try in the DIY section. Had I realised it was going to cause this much drama I probably would of thought twice about using it. To me it was a cool cake I'd found on Pinterest via a friends board and since I'm not a expert baker or anything and it looked simple enough I thought "well even I could do something like that".

So all this drama has got me thinking, how does everyone else feel about ideas and how they are shared and when is it good form to ask if it's ok to use the idea and when is it fair game?

To me and I've said this before Pinterest is a place for all your virtual cork boards where you can find these awesome ideas and share them with your friends and also with strangers.
How do you guys feel about someone you know using ideas that you found first?

For me if your following me on Pinterest and you like one of my ideas sweet then go for it. Use it and tell me how it turned out so when I eventually give it a go then I can either follow your example or learn from your mistakes.

To me if the ideas means a lot to me, I won't post it until after I have made it whether it be here, Facebook or on Pinterest.

On Pinterest's Etiquette page -
http://pinterest.com/about/etiquette/

It mentions nothing about maybe asking people before using their ideas and at this stage you can't make boards for your use only and or block people from seeing your ideas. It's public or nothing at all. To me though why bother with a social networking site that is all about sharing ideas with people (hence the reason you can follow people and people can follow you) if your going to get upset if someone uses a idea? I don't understand but I have a feeling Social Network and Privacy are for another post.

Basically with this post I just want to gage everyones feelings on the subject to avoid making the same mistake twice.

I value my friendships and want to make sure I'm on the same page as the rest of my friends.

Miss Midgets Birthday Cake

This week has just gone

Well this week certainly has flown by.
Monday = Starship and being stuck there from 11am till 3pm for Doc Appointment and Ultrasound).

Tuesday = Work and Tayla had a well earned day with her Daddy chilling at home.

Wednesday = More work.

Thursday = Work and some dealings with drama . did learn a few things though. Mainly life is not worth spending worrying about someone who doesn't give a rats about you. Surrounding yourself with people who actually think your worth something is the way to go :). So just so they don't get a big head and think I'm gonna start having a "tantrum" about them I'll leave it at that :).

Friend cull on facebook to. Took me a awhile but I'm happy with the results :).

Friday = Work (I was pretty busy all things considered this last week, Pretty sure I managed to accomplish a fair bit though)  and then running round with Miss Midget ( I run around with Miss Midget quite regularly but yesterday she was knackered when she went to bed. She'd had lots of fun at Nanny Pam's and then some more with me)

Today = Having Miss Abi to come play was very cool. Tayla really enjoyed having Abi here and they played so well. I now see why Pam always considered herself lucky to look after these 2 during the week. They were having pure fun :).

So as a reward to myself and considering Miss Midgets Dad is on night shift I'm going to eat pasta for dinner and chill out in front of my favourite programs, Might even consider having a bourbon for all my hard work this week :).

Have a good one everyone :)

Consider the rent raised :)

New look?!

So have been having a fiddle round with the blog today.
Feeling it was just a bit busy so have simplified things and given it a plainish header.
Widened everything up and yeah.
We'll see how it goes. I'll most probably get bored with it and play around with the header again and colour but for now simple is good :).
What do you think?

Well the Starship appointment went well. Doc said the lump is not getting any bigger so thats cool. He said he wasn't keen to operate at present and said he would see us in a year to monitor it. So yay no operation for us.

Things on the crafty side are a bit slow at the moment. Really should finish the other 2 Fairies that I've cut out for Miss Midget. They are currently sitting in my sewing box waiting for me.

Have a few other ideas in the planning process. Just have to find the time and the motivation to do them :). So watch this space and we'll go from there lol.

Have fun everyone :)

One Fairy (Rosetta) waiting for me to find motivation :)

Crafty shite and a few other things

So we made it to the end of August and now into September.
I still don't know what happened to August. It went by in a blur.
It was a busy month. We had a family friend come stay for 2wks.
We had 4 family birthdays (Mums, Dads and Mine and Miss Midget).
We had a trip to Starship for Missys lump and yeah.

So Missys birthday went really well. All projects that we had set out to do as presents for her were completed and she was thrilled.

We had to acknowlegde that Mummy and Daddy told fibs and that the "trailer shed" was really her new play house. The afternoon of her birthday was the big unveiling. Once she figured out it was for her she promptly made a little track from the house to her little house taking what ever we would let her out there. We had touble getting her in that night. She was determined she was sleeping out there lol. So 3yrs old and ready to move into her own place. I knew she was advanced for her age but that was a bit more than Mummy was going to let happen. I can't imagine it would of lasted long though given theres no power out there or even a bed for that matter :)

As for my little project I'd been working on, I managed to get that completed on the 23rd with the help of my mothers sewing machine. We ended up giving it to Missy when we went down to Auckland for the hospital trip. She seems to like it and has been playing with it a bit since then. It's a bit hard to tell if its a hit due to her having received some many other toys during the course of the week.

Have also been dying to work on a little side project that I had thought of but wanted to wait till I'd finished the house.
Tinker Bell has become a favourite in this house well at least with Miss Midget. So I found a picture online which looked pretty cool with Tinker Bell and all her fairy friends and decided I would try and make them. The last photo in the long list below will give you a indication on how I'm getting on :).

Oh also big news here. The Dummy fairy came and visited on Thursday night. I am now rather sleep deprived as it's about night 3 we're up to tonight without dummy. Miss Midget is doing well though and hasn't asked for the dummy to many times. She did say this morning she missed it though. We just gently remind her that the dummy fairy gave it to a baby that needed one as she was now a big girl and didn't need dummy. She's seems ok with this answer, I do however think she is now trying to substitute her bottle for dummy. So I guess that'll be the next to go.
We haven't been to concerned with the bottle due her food intake during the day (somedays getting her to eat anything is a mission impossible) but I'm thinking now that we will need to seriously look at the bottle as I don't particularly want to be going through this all over again in just a little while.

Anyway thats it for me. My eyes are starting to hang out of my head. I hear my bed calling my name which is a pretty good sign it's sleep time :).
Will update you all on the lump and the starship appointment another day.

Lets see why................

So lets see why I have been to busy to blog?
Well I don't actually know why. Time seems to of run away from me.
We have been sick with nasty sinus infections and all those things. Poor Miss Midget has had a bad run with it all. Thank goodness the drugs that we have for her at the moment have kicked in and are working.

Mr D and I have also been busy preparing for Miss Midgets birthday which is next month on the 28th.
Yes I know we're running early with prep but we're making a couple of her presents and are trying to give ourselves a bit of time so we're not rushing through it.

So instead of just rambling on with what we've been doing, here are some photos.
First set is Mr D's project (It will have some paintwork done by me once it's completed.
You may remember a while ago I was going on about a toy wooden kitchen for Miss Midget. Yeah that idea evolved into what you see below :)

Miss Midgets Mushroom House (in the making)
Frame's up
Frame dry now and painted
Lining is attached now.
Walls and roof are currently being painted in the garage. Will post more photos as we make progress :). Currently Miss Midget thinks Daddy is building a "trailer shed" in the back yard. Wonder how long she's going to buy that one? lol

Ok so then comes my project.

Felt Dollys and eventually a Dolly House/Bag

Didn't do to badly with my score from spotlight. This is what $17 looks like :)
So didn't really have a pattern to go by so did a bit of drawing. Started off with the one down the bottom of the picture
All cut out and half sewn up
Love the wool I choose for the hair. It's come out great
And this is how she's sitting at the moment. All I have to do is the rest of the face and sew up the back of her dress.
So all up I plan to have 2 dollys and maybe a pet (haven't decided yet). They are going to have a felt bag in the shape of a house that will have some beds in it for them (I figure this make keeping them together easier and also will be good on car trips). I have thought maybe to make the beds detachable so she doesn't have to have them in the house if she's playing with her big wooden house at home.

Anyway thats the plan. It's subject to change at the moment as all of this is being hand stitched.

Also while I'm showing photos of my creations. Heres one I made yesterday.
Meet Pandy

Ok so will try and give you updates on all these projects to let you know how we're going.
