I want a refund!!!!!

So I want a refund.

2013 has not lived up to what was originally sold to me and I want a full refund!

Not store credit and I certainly do not want to pick another year as it can not be promised that it won't turn out exactly like this one.

I'm thinking maybe I need to tell "the powers that be" that they have a faulty product and really should look at fixing it.

While it was never stated that I had brought only roses I think I got the product that only had the thorns and fertilizer. I'm still waiting for my roses!!!

Of course when planning for this year no one could expect that it would turn out like this and yes it is "the luck of the draw" but I think a refund is necessary after everything this year.

I think maybe as I push for my refund I could speak to them about their advertising.

Really things like "It can only get better", "This year holds so much promise", "This year is Your year" really shouldn't be used with regards to this year. It's almost false advertising.

I really should've read the "terms and conditions" on New Years day instead of looking at it through hungover eyes first before I went along with all the advertising above.

If I can't get refund (It's pretty much a given I'm stuck with 2013 isn't it?) I will look into what I can do to get the roses. I have enough fertiliser to sink a ship so I better get some brilliant ones :).

Right now that I have my nonsense rant out of the way I promise I'm fine and we can go back to our regularly scheduled Friday lol.

My imagination and other such rubbish

Right so with the other Blog under way now I feel it's probably time to explain my little adventures here and there.

So here goes :)

Mostly I blog because it's my way of talking about whatever is going through my mind at the time.

In my little world of my blog I imagine people care what I have to say about stuff. They don't particularly care that my writing style is pretty much just me writing the first things that come into my head.
I do try and remember the things that I was taught in English but half the time I write what I think and how it would sound if I said it out loud. I realise sometimes this comes across as poor English but I'm OK with that :).

My little imagination runs away on me and likes to pretend I'm talking to the masses (which going by my stats for both blogs isn't that many people lol).

Now for those who know personally are probably having a good giggle at the bit about the masses. I don't do public speaking at all. i'll avoid it like the plague.
I get nervous talking to a room of 5 people when I'm doing training at work. I did horribly when it came to speeches at school. The content may of been OK but nerves kicked in and I'd rattle on at 90 mile a second, even if I'd timed a speech to the perfect time, standing up in front of people my speech would never be as long as it was meant to be.

I also get a bit of anxiety attacks so chances are I've run through 50 million scenarios about whats going to go wrong and how much of a idiot I'm going to look before I've even got anywhere near to opening my mouth :). So the chances of me actually speaking to a large group of people are pretty non existent as far as I'm concerned.

I guess what I'm trying to say is this little part of the internet for me is a way to voice my opinions about general rubbish that I am either going through or have a strong opinion about. I don't expect everyone to agree with half of what I have to say but it's nice to know people value you or at very least nosey enough to read it :).

Also with these little projects I have going it does seem to help with regards to work.
I work for a website company.I do the content entering and the training for our clients so they can update their websites themselves. I've found having my general play around with the likes of Blogger and Twitter and Facebook have helped with when clients ask about Social Media. Having used some of the products out there for this blog like Google Analytics has helped with regards to being able to answer questions and also occasionally pointing people in the right direction.

So that's it from me for the moment. I'm sure there'll be more stuff to write about shortly. I have a very vivid imagination and this space here lets it run wild with my ramblings which could be dangerous :).

Having "that child"

Hmmmm so We have discovered as Miss Midget is getting older taking her places has become more of a mission.
While I realise the only way she'll learn what acceptable behaviour is for us to take her places and reward the good and not let her get away with the bad stuff.
It's just an incredibly draining exercise and can be highly embarassing having "that" child when your in a social situation.

You know the one I'm talking about. That child screaming or getting into something they shouldn't be or making their poor parent look like a idiot as they are trying desperately to get them under control.
This can be a lot of fun trying to figure out what to do when the child has their own ideas.

Comes back down to a fight or flight scenario. Do you stand their and fight with you child until they see the error of their ways or do you excuse yourself and your child and run away before they can cause any more of disturbance?

I'll give Miss Midget credit she generally is a pretty good kid and most of the time we don't have to many problems when we go places.

Today was not such a cool example though. We were invited to a christening. Miss made some friends and was running round with them and then she gravitated to the sand and dirt and wanted to play in there, Obviously due to her being dressed up and where she wanted to play wasn't really meant to be a sandpit we had to keep steering her clear from it.There were a few other instances where her ears just didn't seem to want to work. Then it came time for the event. Well Missy didn't understand that you had to be quiet. It was explained multiple times but due to the no ears she was suffering from it became a bit much and she was taken out the front for a little while. We resorted to Mr E's phone for her entertainment and she sat on the ground quite happy for awhile until the speeches were over.

While it wasn't a epic scene we still felt bad. I know that sounds funny and I can hear some of you saying that I'm blowing it out of proportion. Factor this in too - My need to not have people looking at me and my parenting skills and the fact that we didn't know half the guests and it was a special day for our friends.

After the speeches we decided it ws probably a good idea to take our tiny terrorist home since her ears didn't seem to be switched on today, We excused ourselves which is a shame as it would of been nice to of stayed but Miss was just getting worse. We will be going back again this evening to have a couple of drinks so will explain when we get there which I'm sure they'll understand.

2 things I have learnt today though is always take food with you when you go somewhere. You can then combat the hungry child and also always make sure you have a escape plan in place just in case of a "that child" emergency.

So now Miss is sitting happily watching TV and isn't "That child" and we will attempt this social thing with her another day once we have her ears working properly.

This week has just gone

Well this week certainly has flown by.
Monday = Starship and being stuck there from 11am till 3pm for Doc Appointment and Ultrasound).

Tuesday = Work and Tayla had a well earned day with her Daddy chilling at home.

Wednesday = More work.

Thursday = Work and some dealings with drama . did learn a few things though. Mainly life is not worth spending worrying about someone who doesn't give a rats about you. Surrounding yourself with people who actually think your worth something is the way to go :). So just so they don't get a big head and think I'm gonna start having a "tantrum" about them I'll leave it at that :).

Friend cull on facebook to. Took me a awhile but I'm happy with the results :).

Friday = Work (I was pretty busy all things considered this last week, Pretty sure I managed to accomplish a fair bit though)  and then running round with Miss Midget ( I run around with Miss Midget quite regularly but yesterday she was knackered when she went to bed. She'd had lots of fun at Nanny Pam's and then some more with me)

Today = Having Miss Abi to come play was very cool. Tayla really enjoyed having Abi here and they played so well. I now see why Pam always considered herself lucky to look after these 2 during the week. They were having pure fun :).

So as a reward to myself and considering Miss Midgets Dad is on night shift I'm going to eat pasta for dinner and chill out in front of my favourite programs, Might even consider having a bourbon for all my hard work this week :).

Have a good one everyone :)

Consider the rent raised :)

New look?!

So have been having a fiddle round with the blog today.
Feeling it was just a bit busy so have simplified things and given it a plainish header.
Widened everything up and yeah.
We'll see how it goes. I'll most probably get bored with it and play around with the header again and colour but for now simple is good :).
What do you think?

Well the Starship appointment went well. Doc said the lump is not getting any bigger so thats cool. He said he wasn't keen to operate at present and said he would see us in a year to monitor it. So yay no operation for us.

Things on the crafty side are a bit slow at the moment. Really should finish the other 2 Fairies that I've cut out for Miss Midget. They are currently sitting in my sewing box waiting for me.

Have a few other ideas in the planning process. Just have to find the time and the motivation to do them :). So watch this space and we'll go from there lol.

Have fun everyone :)

One Fairy (Rosetta) waiting for me to find motivation :)

People and their Opinions

So had a comment put on one of my pins on Pinterest today

"Bad language shows a lack of vocabulary and no class!"

I was a little gobsmacked by it. In my head I'm thinking "Thats fine lady, You can think that but why go to the effort to post it on my pin?"
What did she really hope to achieve? That I was see the error of my potty mouth and take it down?

I thought about it for awhile and then posted along the lines "Thats fine that you think that, You are entitled to your opinion. Just like I am entitled to delete your comment. Have a nice day:)"

It really does baffle me why people choose to push their opinions on to others. I really don't get it. My picture wasn't harming anyone and in MY OPINION I found it quite funny.
I'm also a bit surprised as I didn't think this sort of thing happened on Pinterest. I thought it was sort of a "You can take it or leave it thing". Didn't even think that someone would go to that much effort. Why not just go look at a pin of something else that you are interested in?

Oh well small rant over with :).

I'll leave you with one of my favourite sayings

"Just because your offended, doesn't mean you're in the right"

Guess that works both ways though to huh, each to their own and so on :).

Haircuts and feeling guilty

This subject has been bugging me for a couple of days now. While I'm going to try very hard not to offend anyone apologies now if I manage to (There is no ill intention behind this post at all).

So on the weekend I let Miss Midget's Nana cut her hair. I did ask her to in fact. This is fine just it didn't quite turn out the way I had hoped. Nana did her best and with Miss Midget there is the wiggle bum factor to take into account.

My thing with it all is I'm thinking I should of just well enough alone. Poor Miss Midget is now being asked if she's a boy when taken out places. Majority of her curls are gone and yeah. I'm no having extreme guilt about the whole thing.

I can hear you now - "It's just a hair cut" and you are right it is but it's a big thing to be put in charge of someone else's hair. I have flash backs to my own childhood where my mother made a judgement call with my hair and I was forced to have short hair in the hopes that it would get thicker. Now again my mother did what she thought was best and I don't begrudge her that as now being in the same situation I can see how difficult the decision was. It leaves you open to "Why?" etc.

Now I cannot stress this enough, I love Tayla's Nana to pieces and I did ask her to do it so as far as I'm concerned it's not her fault at all, it's mine. I feel guilty because I have done to my child what I had done to me.

When I was little I wanted desperately to have long beautiful hair like my favourite cartoon characters but it was not to be. Instead all through out my childhood after my hair cuts I would be tormented with "Your a boy, you have a boy hair cut, why are wearing a skirt?".
I'm almost 29yrs old so you would think I would be over it by now since I had these remarks at primary school and younger but yeah things stick I guess. I just don't want Miss Midget to go through what I went through. Hmmmm therapy is needed I suspect as I hadn't realized how traumatized I was by it all lol (just kidding)
Now I realize I'm making it out to be a life changing test that I failed miserably at and am putting far to much importance into such a shallow subject. I know I'm being completely silly with this post but yeah it's how I'm feeling at the moment. This and others things but really second guessing decisions I have made in the past and feeling guilty about things that I have done - So I'm not dealing with the other things and projecting my feelings into a completely meaningless situation - Don't worry, It's ok. Just let me have my rant about this haircut and I'll be sweet lol.

Now in all my rant above which has basically been about how I'm feeling, I haven't mentioned how Missy is. Well thats the funny thing. I'm pretty sure due to the fact she's almost 3 she doesn't seem actually care or to notice she's different again (All her little play friends have very pretty girly hair).
I still have to almost hold her down to brush her hair (or do it sneakily while she's occupied doing something else) and she's not said anything about. So I'm pretty sure it's just me for the moment having this guilt trip about it all. In saying that give it another few years and my name will be mud once she starts actually paying attention to her appearance and her hair.

Before the haircut
After the haircut - Almost no Curls :(
And just to prove I'm not telling fibs about the boy haircut. Yes this is me. I'm about 3 in this photo.

Children in public

Having worked back in the CBD again for what must be coming up a year I have seen and heard my fair share of children throwing epic tantrums. I have also seen peoples reactions to these tantrums.
You can always tell the person who doesn't have a child as they get this look on their face while they are pretending they don't see. The look speaks louder than anything though "Would you shut your little monster up!!!".
You can see others as well. Like the pity look - "Oh you poor thing". I assume these people have been in a similar situation and can definitely relate to what the poor Mum or Dad is going through. I'm pretty sure thats the look I get. Well at least I hope it's the look I get and not this one, the "I'm glad it's you not me" look. These people try  for the pity look but theres a smugness about them that you know exactly what they are thinking.

I'm lucky with Miss Midget, I have not had her pull a epic tantrum in town (we don't go to town very often so thats probably why) or in anywhere to public.
I dread the Supermarket though as I know one day my luck will run out and Miss will have one in there. I have managed to bypass a few that look like they may come. Distraction is the best in this situation and there are lots of things in a supermarket to do this with. If she tries the I want card and I say no and she even looks like she's going to go there I start talking about other stuff like "Can you help Mummy find.........?" or "Can you see......." or "Can you hold this for Mummy please?" this generally works. The only time I have any problem is when I'm at the counter and am trying to pay for something. Missy is insistent on having my wallet. Silly me gave it to her one day and she promptly spread the entire contents on the floor while having a look at it and deciding Mummy didn't need things. Lets just say I don't make that mistake any more. I also try not to park the trolley to close to the Eftpos machine either as little tutu fingers is just dying to "help" Mummy push the buttons.
Most of the time the Cashiers are lovely and talk to Miss and she thinks thats awesome. They also mostly understand if something doesn't quite go to plan.
There was one incident that comes to mind though where I just wished the ground had swallowed me. We were paying for our items and Miss just happened to be going through her screaming/squealing stage and no matter what I said or did she wouldn't stop it. The checkout lady made a big song and dance about it and how it hurt her ears but Miss carried on. The checkout lady was trying to be funny about it with me I guess but there was a definite "Shut your screaming monster up" undertone and look on her face. A couple of the things she said (this was a while ago so I can't remember specifically the conversation) that made me wish I'd picked a different checkout. I'd managed to ignore the screaming/squealing factor all through the supermarket and this lady made such a big deal about it with the other customers listening that I got quite embarrassed which in turn I'm sure made Miss go for it more.I think she was enjoying the attention. I don't think I could of exited that super market any faster if I'd tried.Thankfully we're out of that phase and the supermarket is safe again. Every time I go back to that supermarket though I make sure to avoid that particular checkout lady.

I could understand from her point as she'd probably put up with a few kids doing that all day but in all reality short of gagging my daughter or smacking her at the check out what was I to do? Threats do not work on a 2yr old as they don't understand and they really only have 2 volumes or at least Miss Midget does.....loud and louder.

I don't know, I guess people either understand or they don't. I think at this stage I'm lucky Missy is pretty well behaved in public. I do try not to push my luck with it though. If I can help it we use "parent common sense" and avoid places if Miss Midget is having an off sleepy/grumpy day and things like that. I realise this can't work all the time but I figure while I can there is no need to put Miss or I in that situation.

What do you guys think? Have a I missed a look that people give a Parent of a tantruming child or have you had something similar to my supermarket story. I know a few of you have strangers come up to you with odd pieces of criticism, how did it make you feel?

Getting rid of Dummies

So this post is about pacifiers and not stupid people just so we're on the same subject lol.
Don't want people to think my daughter keeps asking for her favourite stupid person - not that we know any.............

Anyway now that I cleared that up.

We are fast approaching Miss Midgets 3rd birthday (It's in August). Mr D and I have been talking about what to do about a certain dummy that Miss Midget is for lack of a better term addicted to and when to get rid of it.

No I know by writing about this I'm opening a big old can of worms but thats ok. I realise everyone has their own opinions on when to get rid of it and to be honest with you we had thought that we would of gotten rid of it by now.

We've been busy with trying to come up with a exit strategy for dummy for a little while now and basically we have come to the conclusion or at least I have that I need to harden up and not give in when Miss asks for her dummy and distract as much as possible. At the moment we are working on Dummy to be gone around her birthday and have been telling her "When your 3 that makes you a big girl and you don't need your dummy then and we'll have to say good bye to dummy", I think to a degree she understands but I'm also pretty sure she thinks her birthday is ages away.

To help make this good-bye process a little easier we have started with some rules.

1) If it's not bed time, no dummy. This to a degree works as long as Mummy toughens up. It worked last night :). The only time she gets dummy is right before bed time. We used to have this in place but we got a bit relaxed about it and it kind of snowballed. We'll know for next time to stick to our guns.

2) If she has a afternoon sleep at the moment we're (with the help of Nanny P) are in the process of weening her off it. So we're trying to convince her that she doesn't need it at nap time. I have yet to give this one ago myself as we only put it in place yesterday. So ask me again on Sunday evening how this plan is working lol.

Those are our major things we're working through at the moment.
With us working to the goal of it going at 3 that also brings up the debate on the date. Now I'm of the thinking that I don't really want to deal with having no dummy on the day of her birthday. By the time bedtime comes around she will of been running round like a mad thing for most of the day spoilt rotten with toys and sugar. So to me to take dummy away that day would just be plain mean (to me and to her lol).
I also think it needs to be a quiet weekend and we do it on the Saturday or even start on the Friday so that gives us 2 sleep ins up our sleeve to combat the screaming that will go with no dummy.

Yes I know there could be no screaming and it could all go really good. I'd be stoked if it did but with the attachment that Miss Midget has to dummy I'm picking we won't be so lucky.

We have been given so many interesting ideas of how to get rid of dummy. Some I'm not so sure I can go through with but some have been awesome ideas like

- The Dummy Fairy comes and takes it away
- You give your dummy to the Rubbish Bin and then you get to pick out a prize for being such a big girl.
There are a couple of others that were good but I can't remember them of the top of my head.

My daughter has a long history with Dummy.

26/11/09

As some of you know (probably most but I'm pretending people don't know me personally when I write this lol), my daughter was 3 and 1/2 weeks early when she was born. 4lb 4oz. She was just a tiny Midget back then. We stayed in the hospital for 10 days and got to bring her home finally after 10days. I think we lasted maybe 3wks at home before out of pure desperation and lack of sleep (I was having to feed her every 3hrs regardless of if she was sleeping or not because she was so little) and knowing she was not hungry etc we gave her a dummy. This dummy was a magic. I got to sleep and life was good. God forbid you went anywhere without said dummy though or you paid the price. There have been a couple of times where we had to make a emergency stops at the super markets to replace lost or forgotten dummy but we were fine with that as it brought peace and quiet and a happy child.
The dummy has had many names in our house like Gobstopper, Dumdum, Pipe (Mr D's childhood name for it) and d.u.m.m.y (spelling it out so Miss didn't know what we were talking about). It will be the end of era when dummy goes.

Well wish us luck on this new part of the adventure. At least if all goes wrong we still have blankie :)

The Weeklies Number 4 (Technically Fortnightly)

This Week - 14/04/12 till 28/04/12
Well I don't know about you but I'm a tad tired. It's been a full on 2 weeks of fun with the V8's and moving house plus having work and Miss Midget.
My highlight of the week was - Definitely the V8's and INXS, as you saw from my previous post about my petrol head weekend we had lots of fun.
My low point of the week was - Packing boxes :( and Miss Midget getting a tad out of whack due to all the changes. Getting better though. having a quiet weekend to get a routine going now.

My favourite time wasting device or application was - Haven't really had a chance to time waste lately with everything thats been happening :(

My favourite website this week was - No stand out favourites this fortnight. Haven't had time to go exploring :(.
My favouritte article this fortnight goes to this beauty - Nanny Pam you'll love this one :)

My favourite song this week - Ok so I'm admitting to it I liked Carly Rae Jepsen's song "Call Me Baby", I got it stuck in my head and can't get it out :(

My favourite photo - This one was taken back March by our lovely childcare lady Nanny Pam. I stuck it on Instagram the other day and had a play with the filters and this is what I came up with. Pretty cool I thought :)

My favourite saying -

Things to look forward to in the week to come - Being able to get settled again properly. Yay to having space again :).

Well thats that. Done and dusted for another week :)

Feel free to tell me what you think, Anything you would recommend and stuff like that.

The Weeklies Number 3

This Week - 07/04/12 till 13/04/12

Well it's that time again.

My highlight of the week was - Playing with the Bubble Snake Maker with Miss Midget over the long weekend. Lots of fun seeing the different ways we could squish the bubbles. She seemed to enjoy when both myself and her would jump on one end of the bubbles each and squish them in our toes :).

Also car passing a warrant on Wednesday was pretty good

My low point of the week was - Trying to figure out when I'm moving and when I can give me car up and doing a over all juggling act.

My favourite time wasting device or application was - Still stuck on DragonVale. In saying that i have found it interesting to go back and check my guide on Snapguide and see how many likes and views I've had - 405 views and 57 people like the guide :).

My favourite website this week was
- I actually haven't spent that much time on the internet this week. I haven't been home trawling the web like I normally would :).

This week I decided to pick Twitter. I have lots of fun on this site. Especially on Wednesday nights when watching Almighty Johnsons on TV3. This is fun for a few reason - 1) because if you use twitter right you can end up in a conversation with lots of people watching the same thing. It's like being with your mates, everyone quoting one liners from the show and just generally enjoying the show.
2) I follow some of the stars and the Producer/Director of the show as well as a few behind the scenes info which is really cool. You can end up in a conversation with them as well which is always funny to. My little buzz from a couple of weeks ago was when Simon Bennett (The Producer) started following me back :).

Ok I can hear you all now thinking "God your a geek" - Well yes I am and anyone who has spent anytime with me will know that I'm good with useless information and even more so  with useless information about TV and Movies so to have Simon following me is rather cool and to be able to repeat some of the info from the Almighty Johnson Twitter Sessions is pretty cool to lol.

My favourite song this week (New) - Babysittesr Circus - Everythings gonna be alright :) Click here to watch the video. It's such a awesome song and I really like the way they have done the video :) - The making of it is pretty cool to (click here to watch that)

My favourite photo -

I think this photo speaks for itsef :)

Saying of the week
-

Things to look forward to in the week to come (New) - So next weekend I'm heading down to Hamilton to the V8 Super Cars. Should be a good weekend. It's also a Miss Midget free weekend as she will be with her Nanny J so watch out Waikato :).
Oh and also INXS are playing as part of the weekends festivities so fully looking forward that as well :). Awesome cars, Good Music and fingers crossed for fine weather. Which brings me to Next Weeks "Weeklies" may either be early as in on Thursday or extremely late and on the Monday. We'll see how we go. We also having moving day in there somewhere. So if you don't hear from me don't worry I promise I'll be back at the very latest by the 27th (Could make the next "Weeklies" a one off "Fortnight-lies"

Well thats that. Done and dusted for another week :)

Feel free to tell me what you think, Anything you would recommend and stuff like that.

So will post something later on but till then have a good weekend :)

The Weeklies - Number 2

This Week - 31/03/12 till 06/04/12

Well it's that time again.

My highlight of the week was - Doing puzzles on my bed with Miss Midget. She's rather cleaver at doing them to and continuously surprises me when it comes to completing them :).

Also a added bonus this week of Friday being cleverly disguised as Saturday.

My low point of the week was - Waking up at 5:30am on Monday thinking it was close to get up time - Stupid daylights savings stuffing up my body clock and Miss Midgets

My favourite time wasting device or application was -
Ok so I have been playing games this week, Favourite Games are DragonVale and Slotomania. will post links to them at some stage soon :).
My favourite website this week was - Ok so not so much the whole website (As I haven't had a chance to go through it properly yet but this section - Bad Baby Products is hilarious. I especially like the ChocoHead Edible Baby Helmet.
I have also stumbled upon this link which I think is rather hilarious
I found these links through this blog

My favourite photo -

This photo is gorgeous. Another pinterest find.
This also leads me to wonder whether Blue Roses actually exist or whether people are just really good at photoshopping them :)

Saying of the week
-

Well thats that. Done and dusted for another week :)

Feel free to tell me what you think, Anything you would recommend and stuff like that.

So will post something later on but till then have a good weekend :)

The Weeklies - Number 1

This Week - 24/03/12 till 30/03/12

Welcome to the first of "The Weeklies" :)
So here we go :)

My highlight of the week was - Lying down with Miss Midget on her bed reading stories before bed was pretty cool this week. We are very lucky Missy enjoys reading and her books :).

My low point of the week was - Being exhausted wasn't fun. Almost fell asleep on the couch yesterday afternoon :(.

My favourite time wasting device or application was - Star View And Star View Free - awesome application and actually educational :). Basically it works by using your phone/ipod/ipad whatever as the telescope. You point it round the sky and it will tell you what the planets and stars are called. The paid for App shows a few more statelites and shows you the planets. I'm dying to take it camping with me as it shows you the constellations and things as well. Yes I know this app is very nerdy but it's pretty cool all the same lol.

My favourite website this week was - Stuff.co.nz - This is one of my favourite news sites. It is one of my must reads in the mornings. Normally scan the headlines, national news and entertainment sections. Have been reading the technology section to (Yeah I really am a big geek huh, this does explain rather a lot about my high school experience but thats a whole different story lol).
So go check it out. The Oddstuff section can be quite amusing to :).

My favourite photo -

I'm loving this photo at the moment. Yeah I know it was more for last week than it was this week (Yay for good weather this week).

Saying of the week - So my saying of this week has been :)

Well thats it. Feel free to tell me what you think, Anything you would recommend and stuff like that.
So will post something later on but till then have a good weekend :)

You can stick your opinion where............

OK So I'm going to try and not inundate you with my ramblings to much but this has been bugging me for a couple of months now so I thought I'd just put it out there :)

So as some of you may know I kind of disappeared from the World Wide Web for a little while (a least on a personal level).

Well during this time it was brought to my attention that some people thought I had a problem with social networking and an addiction.
Now to me this is absurd. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion on what is acceptable use of the Internet and I try and keep a open mind as to everyone's views on usage etc I am baffled as to why people would
A) think that and B) feel the need to comment on it.
So this blog post is for you (whomever you are. Drives me nuts I don't know as it means I have so called friends who don't have a enough guts to come and talk to me to my face).
OK yes in the past I have spent quite a bit of time on the Internet for work and out of boredom.
Yes the past few months I haven't been on so much partially because I have lost interest with updating people on my every move and partially I am hurt with regards to this opinion.
Let me fill you in on my situation and that might clarify things for you.
I work for a website company. I am on the computer at least 5hrs of every working day. If I feel the need to it's sometimes more depending on whether I have something of interest to look up or somethings happening.
My partner works for a company where he does shift work. 4 days on shift and 4 days off. During his 4 days on he works 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts, each shift is 12hrs long. So as you can imagine I spend a bit of time by myself.
I had been using Twitter and Facebook and Tumblr as a way of venting etc. I always tried to make sure that if I wasn't on the computer for work related and my daughter wanted to play with me that I did so. I always made and will continue to make sure all her needs where I can are met and will always take priority over the Internet.
To me social networking is a hobby. It's something to do that's interactive and can be fun to play with. Whether it be online games or a blog like this. It is also a way of me being able to have adult conversation when it is not always possible to leave my house or have people come visit.
It is also a way for me to keep up with whats happening with everyone and for my family and friends to see what is happening with me when they live over in Aussie or somewhere else in the world.

So thats basically it.

So to those of you out there that think or have thought I have a problem. You can stick it. You are obviously nosey enough to be reading my blog now and obviously follow me and my whereabouts on the Internet.

If you don't have enough guts to say to me you that you think I have a problem or even just talking to me about it then keep you opinions to yourself.

On that note. I hope everyone has had a good day and we'll catch you all again later :)
