Random Cat saga

Well those of you whom are friends with me on Facebook would have been hearing a lot about the random cat that turned up at home on Saturday night and has tried to convince everyone it lives here.
Those of you who don't know heres my little story...................
So we had a party on Saturday night and some time during the evening a very friendly black and white fluffy cat turned up. Now our guests thought we'd got a cat as this pretty kitty was making itself right at home. We were having to remove the cat from our house multiple times throughout the evening. At one stage it even tried hoping in the taxi with Mr D's father. It's a very friendly kitty.
When we woke up the next day the cat was still hanging round. No matter how much we tried to convince it otherwise the cat was determined it lived at our house.
We even had Miss Midget saying "Kitty, you don't live here. Go home".
Poor Kitty still didn't give up and over the course of the last few days we have had return visits from this cat. It even decides it's going to snuggle up on the porch swing and sleep in the afternoon sun almost every afternoon since it turned up.

 

Well yesterday I thought this is getting a tad ridiculous and started to feel bad every time I told it to go home (I had to remove it from car yesterday, When I was getting Miss Midget out of the back seat it decided it was going to sit in the front seat. A quick survey round the immediate neighbourhood told me that everyone had had visits from this cat and it didn't live at any of the addresses.
So I rang the SPCA to see if anyone had reported it, I also had a search online to see if anything turned up.
I got 2 phone numbers. One lady thought it might have been hers and got a bit excited as she'd reported her cat missing in August - Yeah it was a long shot to begin with but you never know. When I sent her the photo it turned out not to be hers. So now I feel bad for both Kitty and the lady for getting her hopes up. The other lady hasn't replied to my texts so I'm picking it's not hers.

There are enough neighbourhood cats in my area where I don't think Kitty is going hungry. I think it has been pinching of them. When it comes to see us it's just wanting someone to give it some love and pats.

Have a few people who were nice enough to re-post the photo I put up on Facebook which is cool. I have also rung the local Vets and providing Kitty comes to see me this afternoon we have a date with the Vet to see if it has a micro chip.


I can hear you all going "Why go to so much trouble for a Cat that isn't yours?"
Well to answer that this Kitty is far to friendly to not be someones beloved pet. I know it's got a home and people who love it. I just hope I can find it.


A few of you have said "Why don't you keep it?", Well as much as I would like to we are not really in a position to have a pet at the moment. The thought has crossed my mind multiple times but Mr D and I have talked about it and yeah it's not the right time for a pet at the moment.


Will keep you posted on whats happening with Kitty. I hope I find it's owner. I won't feel so bad when I send it home as I know it will have a home to go to :).

Busy week

Been a bit quiet on the blogging this week. Mainly because We've been busy at home sorting out the house and trying to find space for everything.

I have some awesome new shelves in Miss Midgets playroom half for her toys and half for a shoe rack. They are doing a great job. A) it makes more room in there for Missy to play and not have a great big toy box in the middle of the floor and B) she can now find 90% of her toys easier. I say 90% because out of the 8 containers we have there are 2 misc ones with stuff in them that doesn't really fit into any of the other categories we have lol. Shes loving the space though.

We have also added some plastic drawers for her to store her puzzles and colouring in books as week which should make the top of her book shelf not so crowded :).
This week we have also been having fun with Miss Midget and her adjusting to the change. After moving back home and then a few other changes the Midget has had to deal with we've had a bit of a battle this week as she hasn't been herself. Slowly getting there though. A lot of TLC from Mummy, Daddy and the extended family and she'll be right in no time (hopefully).

This week my poor little car has gone to the Ding Doctor (Those from Whangarei should get that :)).

It went on Wednesday. It's amazing how one possession can dictate how much independence one has. Yes I know I could walk places and lots of people make do without a car but this is the longest I have been without wheels since I was 19 or 20 and if you've seen the weather in Whangarei lately you'll understand why the Waiwai Express is not a good option especially if Miss Midget is in tow. So looks like it won't be back for the weekend either so it might just be a quiet weekend at home. Not so bad in the scheme of things as I'm sure I have plenty of jobs to do but a pain non the less as there will be no random trips to the super market to get things that are needed etc. So might have to just make a plan and go tomorrow while Elmo is still home.

Mothers Day last Sunday worked out nicely. It was just me and Miss for the day. She was really good for Mummy and we just hung out and did mummy/daughter things and later that day snuggled up on the couch to watch "Dumbo". Later that night so I didn't have to cook we got pizza for dinner. The whole day was lovely. Not so much spoilt (I got spoilt with my present a few days earlier, I get a 1hr long aromatherapy massage at some stage, yay) but we just fun. It was how the day was should be :).

Other than that not a lot is happening. Head down and bum up with work as my training is getting a bit of a overhaul and new schedules are being put in place etc. 

Oh and last blog I promised to tell you about the birthday presents I was making. Well one of them unfortunately hasn't panned out but thats ok as the other one I did went really well. Heres a picture of it :)

About this weather.........

So have been stuck at home the past couple of days. Not feeling the greatest.
Miss Midget hasn't been feeling that crash hot either so we've hidden at home.
Away from the storm which has been nice. (Dunno if you've seen the Weather out here in Whangarei but we've been having lots of fun - Northern Advocate )

So as you can imagine I have seen lots of Dora and Mickey Mouse being at home and am starting to go a little crazy. While it has been nice sitting snuggled up with my daughter while it's been yuk outside I'm looking forward to feeling better and getting back to reality.

We also had fun with the garage almost flooding. Wouldn't of been so bad if my boxes hadn't been in the part where it wanted to flood so was on towel duty yesterday. I can't believe how much water ended up in the big bucket just from wringing out towels.

So have been thinking that maybe I should have some sort of theme going with this blog instead of my random ramblings, Haven't decided on one yet so until then you'll have to put up with them :)

Have discovered a renewed interest in Pinterest , So many things I want to make. Just need the $ to go and do them.

Loving the Naughty stool idea and cloud lights. Oh and one I am dying to try is Glow Jar.
So many neat ideas to do with Miss Midget to when I find time.

Have tried this one - Bubble Snake at a friends house and the girls loved it.
I also did a version of this - Inspiration Stones for a friend for her birthday.

Not the best of photos but I got the Chinese marbles and due the symbols for peace, love and happiness on them. This present was great as it fitted in my budget and I got to give my friend a box of peace, love and happiness in a box thats her favourite colour :).

Anyway will keep you posted if I try anything else out.
